IMF Approves 28.6% Increase In Benazir Kafalat Stipends for Beneficiaries

It is good news for all the Benazir Kafalat Program 8171 registered beneficiaries. The IMF has approved an increase of Rs 10,500 for Benazir’s most recent quarterly payments, which will now be given as Rs 13,500 to each beneficiary. The Kafalat Payments for the new installments of BISP show an increment of 28.6%.

As Kafalat’s new stipend, the IMF approves an increase of Rs 13,500

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased the stipend amount for the Benazir Kafalat Program.

Benazir Kafalat Program participants earning Rs. 10,500 will receive a quarterly stipend that will increase by Rs. 3,000 starting in January, bringing the total quarterly stipend to Rs. 13,500. This is a huge milestone in the years of BISP for facilitating all eligible households as well as providing skill training to their family members so that they can earn their living.

Collaboration between the IMF and World Bank to enhance BISP

The IMF is working with the World Bank to improve the BISP and its administrative framework. For the current fiscal year, the BISP has a budget of Rs. 599 billion, approximately 0.5% of Pakistan’s GDP.

BISP’s main goal is to ensure transparency in the disbursement system and ensure all people respectfully receive their payments. Rubina Khalid claims that it is their right that is being distributed by BISP team management, and they are not doing anything favorably for them.

Pakistan’s loan conditions are changed by the IMF

In a comprehensive report, the IMF outlined the terms of a new credit arrangement with Pakistan. According to the agreement, the IMF recommends that Pakistan strive to stabilize its macroeconomic environment.

To stimulate the economy, the government of Pakistan has been urged to implement economic reforms and create favorable conditions for the private sector.

As a result of the approval of the Extended Fund Facility by the IMF Executive Board, Pakistan received its first tranche on September 27 for US$7 billion. The first tranche of SDR 760 million, or USD 1026.9 million, was received by SBP on Friday, according to SBP.

It is an important relief for beneficiaries to see the IMF approve a 28.6% increase in the Benazir Kafalat Program stipend, which will increase the quarterly payment from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500. Women eligible for this enhanced stipend can still visit their Tehsil offices to complete the BISP NSER Survey and qualify for this enhanced stipend if they are not yet registered.
